James Leo Stewart
1926-2012
I chose today to take my stroll to Heaven.
I lived to love a good wife, but gained a great friend. I
would like to thank John, Lorraine and family, Darlene for all your help
and support that you have given to me. Debby, Donna, George, Sherry,
Ryan and everyone else who were good to me. Betty’s nieces
and nephews for all your support; cups of tea I enjoyed with you all
and your friendships. Debby, Kary, Donnie, Ronnie for all your visits;
I was always happy to see you. Thanks to Dr. Myatt and Janice for all
your care over the years. I must leave you all now, to go to my other
home, free from pain and suffering. Remember me for all the good and
happy times. No tears. Husband, Uncle, Friend. James passed away Friday, July 13, 2012, at the Cape Breton
Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family and friends. He was the
son of the late John and Bertha Jane (Lynds) Stewart of Truro.
James grew up and was educated in Sydney. James worked for 40 years at
C.N. and was a member of St. Pius X Church. He was the last surviving
member of his family. James is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann
"Betty" Boyd, as well as numerous nieces and
nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Blanche,
Irene, Evelyn and Louise; brother, Elroy; and sister-in-law,
Iris. James gentle, loving nature taught us all to love and respect
each other and never to judge others. His words of wisdom taught us to go on without him in our
journey of life. He treated others as he would like to be treated and
taught us all by his example. James was a quiet, but amazing man and
liked the simple things in life. He would do anything for anyone and
was a good friend to all. James loved sports, especially hockey and
the Screaming Eagles, who he supported for many years.
In honouring James` wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass to take place at St. Pius X Church, Main St., Sydney Mines on Wednesday at 11 a.m., with Father Thomas John officiating. Burial at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
