Ann Etheridge

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anna Mae Etheridge (MacDonald), age 93, on Monday, December 28, 2020, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born May 4, 1927, in West Tarbot, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Dan MacDonald and step-father, Angus Matheson.

Ann truly lived her life to the fullest, often going to dances, darts and card games. In her later years, she enjoyed going for drives and shopping trips with her friend, Pat. Ann loved music and would often be out listening to live music, especially her favourite, The Newfie Trio. She had a great sense of humour and her quick wit would bring a smile to those around her. Ann was one who enjoyed every moment with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Lois (Donnie) Coombs and Gloria; son, Donnie; grandchildren, Mark, Lisa (Keven) and Meghan (Brandon) Coombs; sister, Janet Kilbride, Toronto; sister-in-law, Pearl MacKeigan; and a niece and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank.

We would like to thank Dr. Archibald, the palliative care team, VON nurses and the County Homemakers for their support over the past year. A special thank you to Gloria Cantwell for her time spent with Ann the last few months. She enjoyed your company and homemade soup.

Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life will be held.
