It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Blair Andrew Murphy on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born January 4, 1947, in Sydney, he was the son of the late James Francis and Evelyn (Keough) Murphy.
Blair was a proud member of the Local 682 Plumber/Pipefitter Union. Blair was a volunteer firefighter with the Sydney River Fire Department, a member of the KOC, Sydney River and a member of the East Bay Legion.
Blair is survived by his wife, Florence Ann (MacLeod); daughters, Tonya and Yolanda (Wayne) Wrathall; grandchildren, Kennedy, Sydney and Carter; sisters, Anne Marie Quinn and Jane Wukitsch; brothers, Terry, Adrian, Barry, Bruce, Kevin, Father Paul, Sheldon and Gordie and their partners; sister in-law, Kym; brothers-in-law, Craig, Peter, Phillip (Linda) Macleod, along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, James; sister in-law, Darlene; father and mother-in-law, Danny and Marjorie MacLeod; and brother-in-law, Sandy MacLeod.
There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Church on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 11 a. m. with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
The funeral Service will be Live Streamed on the Holy Redeemer Parish Facebook Page.
