Bruce Campbell

We, the family of James Bruce Campbell, regret to announce his passing on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born September 6, 1937, in Westmount, he was the son of the late Roy “Bun” and Lavita Mae (Maxwell) Campbell.

For 35 years, Bruce worked for Ells and Sawlor as their lead carpenter. He was a dedicated member of Westmount United Church and a volunteer fire fighter with the Westmount Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Sandra (Bryne); son, Darren (Leah), Ottawa; grandchildren, Taylor and Madison; sister, Phyllis Schmidt, Guelph; and brother, Douglas (Delores), Sydney.

Besides his parents, Bruce was predeceased by his brothers, Gordon “Spooky” and Ross.

Visitation will take place at Westmount United Church on Friday, January 31 from 4-7 p.m.  Funeral service will be held at Westmount United Church on Saturday, February 1 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Thomas Whent officiating.  Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia or Westmount United Church.
