George Hugh “Bubba” VanDusen

George Hugh VanDusen passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born June 3, 1935, in Scotland, ON, he was the son of the late William and Pearl (Glover) VanDusen.

George worked for the Federal Public Service for 37 years with his final posting being Director of Finance and Administration for the Fortress of Louisbourg, Parks Canada. He had been retired for almost 30 years. During his retirement, he helped in raising his grandchildren, all of whom he was extremely proud. "Bubba" was the kindest, most generous man and would do anything for anyone in need. He will be dearly missed by his wife, daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren. He was truly one of a kind and we feel blessed to have had him in our lives for this long. 

George is survived by his wife, Joan (Purcell); daughters, Karen (Tom) MacPhee, Sydney and Sandra (Mark) Sajatovich, Antigonish; and grandchildren, Laura, Sarah, Georgia, Mitchell, Gabriel and Rachel.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at a later date.
