December 10, 1941 - October 14, 2020

|

We, the family of Mary Angela MacIsaac, regret to announce her passing on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born December 10, 1941, in Sydney. She was the daughter of the late Ethelburt and Hazel Penny.

Mary was a kind compassionate woman who always saw the best in everyone and she had the time of her life when she was sharing it with others. Mary worked at the Red Grill at Woolco in Sydney River, as well as the Woolworth’s Grill.  She cared for many children as if they were her own grandchildren, earning her the name Nanny Mary with those close to her.

She is survived by her sisters, Roberta (Gerry) Wadden and Sandra Penny; brother, Wayne Penny; grandchildren, Kyle (Courtney), Keagan, Amy, and Jarod (Macey); great-grandchildren, Carly and Payton; and her best friend, Maxine.

Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Charles Richardson; life partner, Bernie MacNeil; daughter, Carol Ann Richardson; and brother, David Penny.

Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday, October 17 from 6-8 p.m. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the An Cala, Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Words of comfort can be sent to the family at www.sydneymemorialchapel.ca or e-mail sydneymemorialchapel@ns.sympatico.ca
