Phyllis Ross

August 4, 1928 - November 10, 2020

|

Hillside Road, Mira

The family of Phyllis Ross announce her passing on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Our Mom was born August 4, 1928, to the late John O. "Buller" and Effie (Martin) Munro of Park St., Dominion.

Mom and Dad lived a majority of their lives on Hills Road, Mira, retiring to Hillside, Mira. They truly loved the Mira. Mom was famous for her tea biscuits and tea was always on.

In later years, Mom loved being at home with her beloved, Molly watching the sunsets from her swing. Sadly, Molly passed away six months ago. Mom was always up for a drive with her long-time friend, Charlotte MacCormack. We will be forever grateful to Charlotte for her friendship. Special thanks to Barbara Bugden who encouraged and cared for Mom, enabling her to remain in her own home.

Phyllis is survived by her six children, Sam (Alma),Toronto, Charles (Pina), Sydney River, John (Ange), Mira, Scott (Angela), Mira, Jane Burris (Brian), Pictou and Lynn Colson (Donald), Mira; grandchildren, Tanya Ross, Carla and Leah Ross, Justin Ross, Olivia and Kale Ross, Christopher and Cory Burris and Emma and Jesse Colson; several great-grandchildren; sister, Beryl Doll, BC; brother, John Munro, BC; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Munro and Carol Munro; and brother-in-law, Paul Letournel.

Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, Maurice in 2012; brothers, Charles and Robert Munro; and granddaughter, Eve Burris.

Thank you to the staff of ER, 3A, 4B, 4C and Palliative Care at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. As Mom’s health declined over the last two years, she was frequently admitted and always treated with dignity and respect. Our deepest gratitude to Dr. Carol Critchley for her years of dedication to our mother.

As requested, Cremation has taken place.

Memorials may be made to the SPCA or the Cape Breton Cancer Centre Comfort Fund.

Mom was never one to say good-bye. “See ya later, Ma”
