It is with great sadness, that we announce the peaceful passing of Ramsay MacLeod of Marion Bridge on Monday, September 16, 2019, at home at the age of 90.

He was the son of the late Norman “Klondike” and Katie Ann (MacKillop) MacLeod of Framboise Intervale, NS.  Ramsay and his siblings were known as the “Klondike Kids” of which he was very proud.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Ramsay was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Framboise.  He was proud to tell everyone he was a lobster fisherman, starting with his father at the age of 14.  During the off season, he spent time working at Stirling Mine and enjoyed telling stories about his time as a high climber working at the Heavy Water Plants with his brother, Charlie.

He is survived by his wife, Ann, her children, Trevor (Margo) MacLeod, Shaun (Alana) MacLeod and Amanda (Jamie) Mills and grandchildren, Loghan MacLeod, Gavin and Jonah Mills.  Also surviving are his children, Belva (Jim) Hawkins, Raymond MacLeod, Beverly MacLeod (Mark Martin), their mother, Marjorie “Diddy” MacLeod, daughter-in-law, Linda MacLeod, grandchildren, Michael Hawkins (Whitney Tattrie), Joey (Kylei) Hawkins, Asheton (Gavin) Hardy, Courtney MacLeod, Bradley (Danielle) MacLeod, Kelli MacLeod, Nathan Bridger and Ryan Bridger and great-grandchildren, Sophie and Jayce Hawkins, Hunter and Tucker MacLeod, Jackson and Blake Bridger.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Ramsay was predeceased by brothers, Malcolm Alex, Johnnie, Charlie Angus and Norman D.,  sisters, Mary Katie, Margaret, Dolena and Lily, son, Malcolm Alex and his beloved dog, “Blackie”.

As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will be held at Oakfield Cemetery, Hillside Road on Thursday, September 19 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Lydia MacKinnon officiating.  Reception to follow at the Bethel CE Centre, Hillside Road, Marion Bridge.
